Online Resource of the Month
October - November 2004
Each month, your SDPL features one of our online premium resources, paid for by SDPL, and available at the locations indicated.
Magazine & Journal List
Available at all SDPL locations and online from any location with a valid SDPL library card. Remote patrons login, then select List.
What is the Magazine & Journal List? The Magazine & Journal List provides easy one-stop access to our magazine, journal, and serial collections. Use the List to search, browse, or explore magazine, journal, newspaper, periodical, or serial titles available from San Diego Public Library, either in print (in our libraries) or electronic format (in our databases).
Your Library Card number and PIN are required to access this portal resource from outside our libraries. Please use our Web Feedback Form to contact us for assistance in using our Magazines & Journals List.
Using the Magazine & Journal List
Below is a screen snapshot of the opening screen to the Magazine & Journal List.
To use the list, you can search by title keyword, title equals (exact), ISSN (International Standard Serial Number), or title begins with. This provides a listing of matches from the print or electronic versions of the title(s) we have, or have access to via the databases in our collection.
Ignore words like A, An or The at the start of the title. Note: Some *Freely Available* Web or Internet-based titles are linked also in the listings, for your convenience; you may find links to free government magazines, open source titles, etc.
Example of Title Search and Results
If you search for title keyword for the magazine "Newsweek," below are the results you would receive. This is a sample search result only; links do not work here.
