Megan's Law Registered Sex Offender MapCalifornia's Megan's Law requires that certain information about sex offenders be made available upon request to members of the public, so that the public is better prepared to protect themselves and their children. The California Office of the Attorney General has developed a web site where citizens can review information about registered sex offenders. California Attorney General's Megan's Law Web siteViewing Megan's Law Information at SDPD HeadquartersCitizens are encouraged to review the Megan's Law information at Police Department Headquarters at 1401 Broadway. The database provides more specific information and in most cases a picture of the offender and the violations committed by the registrant. It is available for viewing at the Police Department Headquarters from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. No appointment is necessary. In order to view the Megan's Law information you must be a California resident 18 years of age or older or accompanied by a parent or guardian. Anyone who uses information contained in the Megan's Law database to commit a criminal act against another person is subject to criminal prosecution. |
