Recreation Center Hours
Monday: 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday & Thursday:
2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Wednesday: Noon to 7:00 p.m.
Friday: Noon to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday: 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Sunday: Noon to 4:00 p.m.
*Times are subject to change

Closures:
Friday, July 4th for Independence Day
Monday, September 1st for Labor Day
Tuesday, November 11th for Veteran’s Day
Thursday, November 27th for Thanksgiving Day
Thursday, December 25th for Christmas Day

Facilities
Outdoor basketball courts, a children's play area, picnic tables near BBQ grills and a community building for meetings and classes.

What's Coming

The S.P.O.R.T.S Committee invites you to sign up for Youth Flag Football
Boys and Girls, Divisions 8-10 yrs old, Divisions 11-12 yrs old and 13-14 yrs old
Games will be played on Saturdays for the younger divisions and Wednesdays for older divisions
Practices TBA
Youth League covers September 8th to November 29th
Cost is only $10.00 per person w/ age verification due at time of registration

FREE- after school snacks
All children ages 2-18 yrs old are eligible
Monday - Friday 4:00p.m. to 4:30p.m.

Halloween Carnival and Costume Contest
Thursday, October 30th
5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
We will be having carnival games, food booths, and costume contest, much more!

TOYS FOR TOTS
The annual Toys for Tots registration will be held in early November; date TBA

History of the Center

The center was built in 1972 and serves the recreational and leisure needs of children and adults living in the densely populated area of Azalea Park in City Heights.


Directions and Bus Route

Map this location

From Interstate 805 North take the Home Ave. exit and turn left.  Turn left on Fairmount Ave. Turn left on Poplar St. which will curve into Violet St. Remain on Violet until you see the center ahead.

From Interstate 805 South take the Home Ave. exit and turn right. Turn left on Fairmount Ave. Turn left on Poplar St. which will curve into Violet St. Remain on Violet until you see the center ahead.

The center is accessible by bus via SDMTS routes 13 & 965.

Azalea Recreation Council meets the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Azalea Recreation Center.
