Land Survey Services for Capital Projects

The following support services are provided.

  • Horizontal and Vertical Control for the City - Geodetic Control
  • Construction Staking
  • Preliminary Design: Topographic Surveys, Hydrology Surveys, Bathymetric Surveys, and Aerial mapping
  • Creation of exhibit drawings and legal descriptions
  • Land title research
  • Determination of property boundary and right-of-way
  • Filing of corner records for survey points destroyed by City projects
  • Performing records of survey of City owned parcels and right-of-way
  • Settlement monitoring on City facilities such as for local reservoirs
  • Quality control/quality assurance for resolving discrepancies or disputes

The public may obtain public record information such as copies of Field Survey Notes, Record Maps and as-built drawings at the Development Services Records section at (619) 446-5200.

Survey staking services on capital projects require 48 hours notice and are to be contacted by the designated resident engineer on behalf of the contractor.
